About Heather Townsend
Heather is passionate about helping her clients become the Go-To-Expert. In fact she event wrote the book, 'The Go-To Expert'. For someone with an Engineering Degree, she accidentally became a writer and used her knowledge on social media to write the current best-selling and award-winning book on networking, The FT Guide To Business Networking. (It has over 100 five star reviews on amazon) In 2012, Heather co-authored her second book, "How to make partner and still have a life'. People frequently talk about her as someone who really knows her stuff – which may be the reason she has, over the last decade, worked with over 300 partners, coached and trained over 2000 professionals at every level of the UK’s most ambitious professional practices. In the last few years she has gained a reputation as an original and refreshing professional speaker.
As well as a knack for connecting people, she is highly regarded within the professions, which is probably part of the reason why she has judged the British Accountancy Awards in 2011 and 2012. Her articles and quotes regularly appear in the accountancy and legal trade press, plus the UK national newspapers.
When Heather is not helping her clients take the next forward in their business or career by becoming the Go-To-Expert, she can be found hard at work in the kitchen. As Heather says, many people can resist temptation, but not her famous lemon drizzle cake or amaretti biscuits.
Heather’s client list includes the very biggest professional service firms such as KPMG, Deloitte, BDO, as well as many of the mid-tier, e.g. HWCA, Penningtons, DAC Beachcroft and Macintyre Hudson.
